How It Works

Professionally Installed, Start to Finish

Proper installation is almost as important as the product itself. An improperly installed shade can be tough to operate and can get damaged easily.

Care & Maintenance

Easy to Keep Looking New

Day-to-day dirt and dust bunnies have little power over our easy-care materials.

  • Wipe gently with a soft cloth.
  • Vacuum lightly to lift dust from the fabric.
  • Use a hair dryer on the COOL setting to blow off dust and debris.
  • Honeycomb fabrics are stain- and wrinkle-resistant, so they practically take care of themselves.

Shades FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of shades does Elizabeth Shutters offer?

We offer three custom shade collections: honeycomb (cellular) shades, roller shades, and sheer shades. Each is made to order for your windows and installed by our professional installation crew.

What are honeycomb shades?

Honeycomb shades, also called cellular shades, are built with an insulating cell construction that helps restrict outside air, keeping your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer. They come in a wide range of colors and fabrics and work on almost any size or shape of window.

What is the difference between roller shades and sheer shades?

Roller shades are a single panel of fabric with a clean, minimal look, including solar screens that filter light with varying degrees of openness. Sheer shades suspend horizontal fabric vanes between two layers of soft knitted sheer, so you can align the vanes for privacy or shift them for soft, diffused light and views.

Which shades are best for bedrooms?

Honeycomb Day/Night shades combine two fabrics in one shade, translucent on top and blackout on the bottom, connected by a moving rail, so you can switch between soft daylight and darkness. Your consultant can also show you blackout fabric options in other collections.

Can shades be motorized?

Yes. Honeycomb shades are available with RF or IR motorization, so a single shade or several can be raised or lowered with the touch of a button. Motorization is ideal for hard-to-reach windows. Ask your consultant about control options for other collections.

Do you make shades for arched or unusually shaped windows?

Yes. Honeycomb shades are available for arches, including fan-style and quarter arches, in moveable or stationary systems. Unusually shaped windows are one of the things honeycomb shades handle best.

Are cordless shades available?

Yes. Cord-free honeycomb shades eliminate dangling cords, which removes a potential safety hazard for children. Systems that use continuous cord loops are manufactured with a tension device according to ANSI Standard Section 6.5.2.

How do I clean my shades?

Day-to-day dust has little power over our easy-care materials. A soft cloth, a vacuum, or a hair dryer on the cool setting will keep your shades looking like new. Honeycomb fabrics are also stain- and wrinkle-resistant.
